Description of Last Vacation
Last year I went
to see Agra along with my family members. We went their by Taj Express. In Agra
we stayed in a famous hotel for three days. Our journey started the next day,
we hired a cab and went to see the famous monument of Agra i.e. ‘Taj Mahal’. We
were literally mesmerized to see this amazing monument, which was built by the
Mughal Empire ‘Shah Jahan’ in the memory
of his third wife ‘Mumtaz Mehal’. Taj
Mahal is regarded by many as the finest example of Mughal Architecture, a style
that combines elements from Persian, Islamic and Indian architecture.
Next day we went
to see another interesting fort in Agra named “Fateh pur Sikri’ created by
Akbar. This place has clusters of buildings that were used for different
purposes such as Private living quarter, Diwan-e-aam, Diwan-e-khas, Jodhabai’s
palace and so on. We really had a nice time clicking pictures and capturing the
video of the beautiful sights into our cameras.
While we were in
Agra we also visited the famous food courts and markets in Agra. There is wide
variety of sweets made out of ‘Pumpkin’ which is known as “Petha” in hindi.
Besides from the street markets in Agra, one can buy clothes and accessories at
very reasonable prices. We also bought some gifts for our family friends and
close ones.
Thus my trip to
Agra was one of the most wonderful travel experiences that I have in my life so
far. Going along with family members made it all the more interesting and
fun-loving. Therefore in short I suggest that everyone must plan to see Agra at
least once in their lifetimes.
