       Column: - 16, 384
3.      What is file extension of Microsoft word 2007?
.Docx
4.      What is multimeter?
A multimeter is an electronic measuring instrument that combines several measurement functions in one unit. A typical multimeter would include basic features such as the ability to measure voltage, current, and resistance.
5.      What is Diode?
Diode is an electronic device, which allows current to flow in one direction. Diodes are formed by joining N-type and P-type semiconductors. The N-type semiconductors contains free electrons that moves through the material. Similarly P-type semiconductors contains holes.
6.      Which is the latest microprocessor?
Intel core i7 (3.2 GHz).
7.      What is SDRAM?
SDRAM stands for Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory. It synchronizes the speed with the CPU clock speed. The speed of SDRAM is measured in nanoseconds and megahertz units. It runs with an average speed of 1.33 MHz.
8.      What is SMPS?
SMPS stands for Switch Mode Power Supply. It is an electrical device that provides power to electronic devices and circuits. It is responsible for the power conversion from high voltage AC to low voltage DC.

9.      What is the difference between RAM and ROM?
RAM
ROM
1. RAM stands for Random Access Memory.
1. ROM stands for Read only memory.
2. It holds the data until the system is turned off. Once the system is turned off, the data is lost.
2. It holds the data even after the system is turned off.
3. It is also known as temporary memory.
3. It is also known as permanent memory.
4. It is a volatile memory.
4. It is a non-volatile memory.

10.  What is the difference between SATA and PATA?
SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) is a computer bus interface that connects host bus adapters to mass storage devices such as hard disk drives and optical drives. It transfers data 1 bit at a time with the speed of up to 600 MB per second. It uses a smaller 7-wire cable to the system. The cable can have a maximum length of 1 meter.
PATA (Parallel Advanced Technology Attachment) originally AT Attachment, is an interface standard for the connection of storage devices such as hard disks, floppy drives, and optical disc drives in computers. It transfers data using 16 bits bus width with speeds of up to 133 MB per second. The hard disk uses 40-pin connector.
11. What is the difference between LCD and LED?
LCD stands for liquid crystal display. They are light in weight, consumes less energy and are used in laptops, microwave ovens. The picture on the LCD monitor does not flicker and thus reduce eyestrain because the whole image is drawn at once on the LCD screen.
LED stands for light emitting diode. LED computer monitor has been mainly appreciated for its low power consumption and great performance which has been considered as perfect for office use.
      12. List four most important components require to assemble a PC cabinet.
·         Microprocessor
·         Motherboard
·         RAM
·         Hard Disk
13. What is IRQ table?
In a computer, an interrupt request (or IRQ) is a hardware signal sent to the processor that temporarily stops a running program and allows a special program, an interrupt handler, to run instead. Interrupts are used to handle such events as data receipt from a modem or network, or a key press or mouse movement. The interrupt request level (IRQL) is the priority of an interrupt request.

            14. What is BIOS?

BIOS stands for Basic Input/Output System is the firmware interface. It performs the basic maintenance of the system by checking all the hardware connected to the system and loads the operating system.

15. What is the difference between DMP and LaserJet printer?

DMP stands for Dot matrix printer. It uses a matrix of metal pins on the electromagnet print head to create dots. They are noisy as print head is banged against the ribbon with considerable force. They do not produce a high quality documents or graphics.

LaserJet it uses a beam of laser for the purpose of printing. It functions on the principle of static electricity. It uses the property to combine ink powder and paper.
